PHOTO NEWS RELEASE: Inmates complete basic electricity certificates

Paducah, KY (02/01/2020) — PADUCAH, KY - Nine McCracken County jail inmates were recently awarded certificates of completion in basic electricity from Workforce Solutions at West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Through their completion of over 32 contact hours, the graduates earned 2.1 credits as well as an industry-recognized certificate awarded by Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES). Class Instructor Buzz VonTesmar has been networking with local businesses to help the graduates obtain jobs once released. VonTesmar volunteered his time and knowledge to make the course possible. WKCTC's Workforce Solutions provided some funding to purchase required course materials. Other programs being offered through the jail are welding, air conditioning technology, and a new program, marine deckhand training, beginning soon.
