Tibetan Buddhism: Mindfulness and Chantings for Healing with Venerable Khenpo Tsering Phuntsok
Paducah, KY (02/17/2025) — The Venerable Khenpo Tsering Phuntsok, a practicing Buddhist monk, will present a special discussion on Tibetan Buddhism on February 25 on the campus of West Kentucky and Technical College (WKCTC). The discussion also will include mindfulness practices, and the healing power of chanting.
Venerable Khenpo Tsering Phuntsok has been a dedicated practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism since entering the Palyul Choekhorling Nyingmapa Monastery in Bir, India, in 1987 at the age of 16. With his deep understanding of Himalayan culture and Buddhist traditions, Khenpo Tsering Phuntsok will provide insight into how consciousness and chanting can be powerful tools for healing.
"The Venerable Tsering Phuntsok has been visiting to WKCTC since 2016 and usually visits several area colleges including Murray State University, Hopkinsville Community College, Brescia, and Western Kentucky University," said Janey Wells, Psychology Instructor at the college. "The programs enhance our campus community by bringing Tibetan culture to life for the attendees."
This event is free and open to the public, offering an opportunity to explore Tibetan Buddhist practices in an accessible and engaging way. Whether you're familiar with Buddhism or new to it, this presentation is a chance to learn and reflect on enlightenment as a means of personal growth and well-being.
