WKCTC's Education Express Returns to Graves County April 25

Paducah, KY (04/11/2019) — Faculty, staff and students from West Kentucky Community and Technical College will make a return visit to Graves County April 25 as part of the college's 2019 Education Express: Connecting Communities Tour.

The WKCTC Regional Education Express, which began in February 2017, first visited the Mayfield/Graves County community in April of the inaugural year. Continuing to visit the river counties it serves, WKCTC connects more personally with area communities, including students and their families. The return visit to Graves County will continue the conversation of how WKCTC can meet the needs of the community, said WKCTC President Anton Reece.

"We are excited to return to Graves County. Education Express is our commitment to raising regional access and awareness of education and workforce training, and meeting the needs of our K-12 and business/community agencies," he said.

Dr. Reece extends an invitation to the city educators, business, community and religious leaders, as well as students and their families in Graves County to attend the April 25 Education Express.

The meet and greet reception will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. at West Kentucky Rural Electric Community Room at 1218 W. Broadway Street in Mayfield.

A two-year, comprehensive, regional college serving more than 8,000 students annually, WKCTC offers more than 200 credential options in a variety of career and academic programs, with classes offered in Paducah and Hickory as well as online.

WKCTC has been recognized by The Aspen Institute as one of the top 10 community colleges in the nation each of the four times the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence has been awarded. The college was recognized for providing students with strong job training and continuing higher education opportunity, for achieving high completion and transfer rates, and for providing strong employment results for its graduates.
