WKCTC to Empower Students Through Pathway to Affordable Education Event

by Justin Jones

Paducah, KY (06/18/2025) — For many students, the dream of higher education can feel just out of reach. West Kentucky Community and Technical College is working to change that by helping individuals take the next step toward an affordable, achievable college experience.

Through the "Pathway to Affordable Education" event attendees may receive personalized support in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), explore scholarship and grant opportunities, and connect with a Kynect representative to learn about available state-based benefits and resources.

"We understand that the cost of college can feel overwhelming for many students and their families", said Jennifer Tubbs, Vice President of Business Services. "Our goal is to ensure every student knows that there are pathways to make college affordable, whether through scholarships, grants, payment plans, or financial counseling. We're here to guide them every step of the way."

Financial experts from Signet Federal Credit Union will also be available to answer questions about banking, budgeting, and managing money while in school.

To support student success, all attendees will be entered into a drawing for prizes, including two scholarships for the fall 2025 semester and a laptop computer donated by WKCTC Barnes and Noble Bookstore.

The event will be held Thursday, July 10, from 10 to 6 p.m. at the Anderson Technical Building, 4810 Alben Barkley Drive, on WKCTC's campus.
