Carla Renee Brindley of Kevil Named a Candidate for Graduation at WKCTC

Carla Renee Brindley of Kevil, KY was one of more than 800 candidates for graduation honored at West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Fall Commencement Ceremony December 14, 2015 at the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center.

Brindley was one of several students to receive a diploma, graduating with high distinction ? a grade point average between 3.600 and 4.00 with at least 30 credit hours.

In addition to the candidates for graduation, more than 50 students received nursing pins during a ceremony prior to commencement.

Alexandra Sherwood, director of recruiting and career services at University of Kentucky College of Engineering, Paducah, was the keynote speaker for the ceremony. A native of Morocco, in northern Africa, Sherwood worked diligently to become a United States citizen in 2006. Since that time, she has earned a GED, an associate degree from WKCTC in 2009, and a master's degree in organizational communication from Murray State University in 2013.

Student speakers were Ryan Haden of Graves County and Jill Westerfield of McCracken.
