Payton Hillebrand of Metropolis was one of five additional West Kentucky Community and Technical College students recently named to the college's 2014-2015 West Kentucky Stars cheerleading squad.

The squad will perform at each home game in support WKCTC's West Kentucky Stars club basketball team. Payton, a Massac County High School graduate, is seeking a Business Administration credential from WKCTC.

"I'm extremely proud of and excited about this year's cheerleading squad," said Sarita Robinson, WKCTC admissions advisor and West Kentucky Stars cheerleading coach. "This group is a true example of what a team should be. They are all such hard workers and each of them use their individual strengths to help the others on the squad grow and improve."

For the first time, the squad started conditioning in early June.

"We all have so much fun together and really enjoy being around each other. We work extremely hard, but always have fun doing it," Robinson said. "They have all stepped up and accepted my challenges without complaining at all. I believe we are on our way to being the most exciting, peppy, most entertaining cheer squad WKCTC has seen yet!"

Fall classes began August 18. Registration is underway for late start classes.
