McNabb Elementary's Teresa Spann Appointed to Foundation Board

Paducah, KY (05/12/2017) — Teresa Spann, principal of McNabb Elementary School in Paducah, has been named to the board of trustees for Paducah Junior College Inc., the foundation for West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

"We are so delighted to have Mrs. Spann join our board," said John D. Williams, PJC Board of Trustees chair. "She brings a wealth of local involvement in the community and is a strong leader in education and other entities in Paducah. I know she will be an asset to our board."

Spann, a WKCTC alumnae, earned a bachelor of science degree in teaching early elementary education from Western Kentucky University in 1998. She gained a master of arts degree in middle school teaching and principal certification from Murray State University. She taught at McNabb Elementary, Cooper-Whiteside Elementary and Paducah Middle schools a total of 15 years before being named McNabb Elementary School principal in 2013.

A member of the Kentucky Education Association and the Phi Delta Kappa Professional Educational Association, Spann has received a NAACP Lifetime Educator Award and was named to the WKCTC Hall of Fame in 2012.

Spann was appointed to the board by Judge-Executive Bob Leeper and the McCracken County Fiscal Court. PJC provides resources for improvement and enhancement of educational opportunities in support of the mission and vision of WKCTC.
