Registration for Fall classes at WKCTC Continues

Flexible Scheduling: Online and Evening Class Options

Paducah, KY (07/08/2019) — Registration continues for fall classes at West Kentucky Community and Technical College and students have flexible options. Fall classes begin August 19.

"We encourage students to register early to ensure they get the classes they want this fall. WKCTC offers opportunities to meet student where they are; some will continue to take classes throughout the day but others need online or evening classes to fit into their lives," said Emily Peck, vice president of student services. "At WKCTC, it's all about you!"

In addition to a variety of online class options, many WKCTC programs are offered fully online including computer aided drafting and design, logistics and operations management, marine technology, medical information technology and others.

Offerings for evening classes range from English, writing, math and introduction to computers to emergency medical technician, early childhood development, welding and more.

Financial aid and scholarships are available for those who qualify. Scholarship opportunities include the Kentucky Work Ready Scholarship, a program that covers tuition to students who meet the requirements in five high wage high demand careers - healthcare, advanced manufacturing, construction/trades, IT/business, and logistics. Students can earn certificates in these fields in four months or less.

During the summer new students may register for classes in the WKCTC's Advising Center and meet face to face with an advisor to discuss their career goals and pathway to success. Currently enrolled WKCTC students can also come to the advising center to discuss completing their educational path.

The center is located in room 106 in the Anderson Technical Building. Advising Center hours during the summer are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Campus is closed on Fridays during the summer.

Individuals who need to earn their GED can also sign up for classes at WKCTC, and can earn a college credential and a GED at the same time through a program called GED Plus. The Kentucky Work Ready Scholarship is also available for the GED Plus program in the five high wage, high demand fields.
