West Kentucky Community and Technical College ADN Program Recognized as an Elsevier Certified Program

Paducah, KY (01/29/2025) — The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) has been recognized as an Elsevier Certified Program. This prestigious distinction is awarded to nursing programs that integrate Elsevier's 360 full program of resources into their curriculum to enhance student learning and improve program outcomes.

Elsevier, a global leader in the publication of scientific, technical, and medical information, provides educational resources and tools to support healthcare research and education. By incorporating these resources into the ADN curriculum, WKCTC ensures that its nursing students are equipped with the most up-to-date and comprehensive materials to succeed in their studies and future careers.

"We are honored to receive this recognition," said Kristy Bell, Program Coordinator for Nursing at WKCTC. "Being named an Elsevier Certified Program reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students to providing top-tier nursing education. This certification demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our graduates are well-prepared for the challenges and demands of healthcare."

The WKCTC ADN Program is now one of the only Elsevier Certified Programs in Western Kentucky, further solidifying the program's reputation for excellence. This recognition is a testament to the college's ongoing efforts to provide students with the best possible learning experience, combining academic rigor with cutting-edge resources and tools.

The Elsevier certification is awarded based on a program's successful implementation of Elsevier's resources, which are designed to enrich the learning experience and improve student outcomes. These resources include access to journals, textbooks, interactive learning modules, and clinical tools that support nursing education from the classroom to clinical settings.

"Our ADN program has always been committed to offering an exceptional nursing education," said Bell. "This certification reinforces our dedication to innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring our students are fully prepared to excel in their nursing careers."
