WKCTC Education Express Kicks Off in Graves County, Bringing Community and College Together

Paducah, KY (03/11/2025) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College is launching a 2025 Education Express tour, "Your Community, Your College, Your Future," with an inaugural stop in Graves County on April 1, 2025. The eight-community tour marks the beginning of a regional initiative designed to celebrate education and community partnerships. The Graves County event begins at 4 p.m. at the West KY Rural Electric Cooperative Corp. located at 1218 W Broadway in Mayfield.

The Education Express aims to achieve four key goals: to celebrate education and recognize local supporters, showcase WKCTC's commitment to regional comprehensive education and economic development, gather firsthand feedback from stakeholders, and expand access to educational opportunities for adult learners.

"We are thrilled to begin our Education Express tours in Mayfield, a community that has shown incredible resilience and dedication to education," said WKCTC President Dr. Anton Reece. "This tour is about listening to our communities and ensuring WKCTC remains a vital resource for their future."

The Mayfield and Graves County event will feature a comprehensive program, including presentations by WKCTC President Anton Reece, representatives from WKCTC Academic Affairs, Admissions, and Workforce Solutions, as well as comments from local leaders and stakeholders. Certificates of appreciation will be presented to Mayor Kathy O'Nan, Judge Executive Jesse Perry, and Superintendents Matthew Madding (Graves County Schools) and Billy Edwards (Mayfield Independent Schools).

"Our goal is to create a meaningful dialogue and strengthen the connection between WKCTC and the communities we serve," said Ashley Burns, Director of WKCTC Workforce Solutions.
