WKCTC Kicks Off Seniors Learning for Fun Spring Program January 16
Paducah, KY (01/09/2018) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Seniors Learning for Fun Program for this spring begins January 16.
The college is offering a variety of program offerings and senior learners are encouraged to register now for the series, which begins January 16 and runs through May 8. Individuals can register for one or all courses for $30.
All offerings (except the annual trip) will be held in the college's Emerging Technology Center, Room 109 at 2 p.m.
Throughout the season, participants can learn about:
- the benefits of chair yoga and the science behind the stars;
- the Roaring 20s and the dirtiest election ever;
- the Paducah Ambassador program;
- Columbus-Belmont State Park; and more.
Participants can sign up for the Columbus-Belmont State Park trip that will take place May 8. Cindy Lynch, Park Superintendent and her team will welcome participants to the Park, situated on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River near Columbus, Ky. It is a National Scenic Byway and National Trail of Tears Site and part of the Civil War Heritage Trail, and was a site of a battle for control of the Mississippi River during the Civil War. The tour will also include a tour the Civil War Museum. A simple lunch will be provided. Participants are asked to wear comfortable shoes. Some assistance will be available for those unable to walk to the top of the bluff. On May 8, a charter bus will leave the WKCTC Emerging Technology Center at 9:30 a.m. and return by 3:30 p.m. The trip is an additional cost of $40 per person, which includes bus fare. Space is limited.

Programs are scheduled based on the number of people registered. No registration confirmations will be mailed. Participants will be notified if programs are full or cancelled.
