Paducah, KY (02/28/2020) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College will once again roll out the red carpet to celebrate distinguished local educators, administrators and staff during the Third Annual Regional Educators Awards and Scholarship Program Thursday, March 5 at the Clemens Fine Arts Theatre.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with a reception in the college's student center and will follow with a program in the Clemens theatre.
More than 60 honorees were nominated by students, parents and colleagues for their outstanding service and dedication to education. They will be honored on stage during the ceremony in each of the following categories:
- Distinguished Faculty (Pre-K-5th Grade) Award
- Distinguished Faculty (6th-12 Grade) Award

Two finalists and an one overall winner will be announced for each category.
The program will include musical selections by Murray State University's EQ Blu, a premier mixed a capella vocal group under the direction of Dr. Christopher Mitchell. Graves County High School Principal Alison Gregory will be the evening's keynote speaker.
In conjunction with the awards program, a scholarship continues for WKCTC students interested in K-12 teaching, early childhood education, or educational majors to encourage and assist the region's future educators. The first scholarships were awarded last fall. Funds raised through awards program sponsorships contribute to the Future Educators Scholarship.
