Chair Yoga for All Ages Offered at WKCTC

Four-Week Class Begins May 3

MEDIA RELEASE: Paducah, KY (04/26/2017) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College is offering a four-week Chair Yoga class beginning May 3.

The classes will be held Wednesday mornings May 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. in Haws Gymnasium. The cost for the four sessions is $39. Participants need to bring a yoga mat (if do not have one, one can be provided), water, a hand towel and comfortable fitted clothing.

Chair Yoga integrates the yoga postures (known as asanas) with mindful breathing techniques to bring awareness and balance to the mind, body, and breath.

"Studies have shown that yoga can reduce pain, improve mobility, improve balance, decrease stress, increase focus and improve sleep, said Kevin O'Neill, WKCTC interim vice president of regional workforce and economic development. "This class will be fun, safe and will benefit participants of all ages."
