Local Favorites Kick-off WKCTC's Clemens Fine Arts Center Backstage Pass Series, September 8

Tickets $8 in advance - $10 at the door - Season Pass Available

Paducah, KY (09/01/2018) — Local favorite singer-songwriters Shaina Goodman, Jenny Johnson and Lane Davis will kick-off the Backstage Pass Series at West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Clemens Fine Arts Center September 8.

Goodman, Johnson and Davis will combine their unique styles of music, performing together on stage in a round-robin style show. They will share stories about artists who have inspired them and also talk about the origins of some of their songs.

"I wanted to celebrate local female musical artists and separate them from their other projects to feature their creativity and passion for making music," said Clemens Director Todd Birdsong.

Goodman is a native of Murray who has been shaped and inspired by the American South. "I'm a real farmer's daughter, singing about things I know, she explained. "It's not hard to share my sense of place when I know figuratively and literally how a patch of land holds a world together." Audiences may also know Goodman from band, The Savage Radley.

Jenny Johnson, who was a big hit with the Backstage Pass audience in 2015, crafted her American Midwestern sound on boardwalks, around kitchen tables, and in between jobs within the Southern Illinois hills. Her songs allow her uniquely powerful and authentic vocal style to pour through to envelop audiences.

Lane Davis, who gave a sneak preview of her music at the Clemens Center's season preview party last month, has been a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for over 15 years. Like Goodman, she was raised in rural western Kentucky in a farming family. Her songs are reflective of her upbringing in Hickman County, drawing inspiration from Southern folklore, rural American life and a deep and storied family history.

Backstage Pass features amazing artists such as Goodman, Johnson, and Davis in an intimate space on the Clemens stage. Seating is on stage so the audience can sit down, settle in and just listen. ETC Coffeehouse of Paducah will provide coffee for the evening and other refreshments will also be available during the show.

Tickets are just $8 in advance or $10 at the door! Get tickets online at artsinfocus.universitytickets.com or by calling Julie Moore at (270) 534-3212. Backstage Pass season passes are also available for $25.
