Paducah Chamber and WKCTC Sponsoring Training to Help Reduce Workplace Violence

Paducah, KY (10/19/2018) — The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Workforce Solutions to offer training on potential workplace violence. Active shooter incidents are often unpredictable and evolve quickly. In the midst of the chaos, anyone can play an integral role in mitigating the impacts of an active shooter incident.

West Kentucky Community and Technical College aims to enhance preparedness through a "whole community" approach by providing training, tools, and resources to help prepare individuals to respond to an active shooter incident. The training will be provided by a highly trained law enforcement official.

The two-hour training will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Commerce Center at 300 South 3rd Street in Paducah. The cost is $20 for the first attendee and $15 for additional attendees from the same business.

The training will help individuals recognize potential workplace violence and determine what action to take such as:

  • How to respond when an active shooter is in your vicinity
  • How to take action against the active shooter
  • How to respond when law enforcement arrives
  • Ways to prepare for and prevent an active shooter situation and
  • Recognizing indicators of potential workplace violence

Space is limited. Register online at paducahchamber.org

Facility security reviews are available and Mass Casualty Tactical Care training is also available upon request.
