WKCTC offering Cooking on a Budget Classes
Paducah, KY (10/09/2019) — Trying to stay within a food budget can be difficult. Some common ways to maintain a budget are to plan meals, make a list, and not to shop for food in the store when you're hungry. Another fun way is to sign up for a cooking on a budget course at West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Two classes will be offered in November to teach the basics of cooking breakfast and dinner on a budget.
Cooking on a Budget for Breakfast and Cooking on a Budget for Dinner will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the Marine Technology Kitchen, Room 159 in the Anderson Technical Building. The cost is $20 per class. Recipes are quick, easy and inexpensive to make.
Cooking on a Budget for Breakfast will be offered Thursday, November 7. Participants will learn how to make buttermilk pancakes from scratch with homemade gravy. They will also learn to make chocolate gravy to go over buttermilk biscuits for a sweet breakfast.
Cooking on a Budget for Dinner will be offered Thursday, November 21. Participants will learn how to create a chicken and rice casserole with a seven layer salad and lemon bars for dessert.
