WKCTC's Paducah School of Art and Design Opens International Miniature Quilt Exchange as part of Fall QuiltWeek

Paducah, KY (09/05/2019) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Paducah School of Art and Design is again hosting an exhibit to coincide with this year's Fall QuiltWeek activities September 11-14.

International Miniature Quilt Exchange, an American Quilters Society (AQS) sanctioned exhibition of art quilts, will run throughout Fall QuiltWeek in the Bill Ford Gallery. The gallery is located in the art school's 2D and Graphic Design Building at 905 Harrison Street.

The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by TheQuiltShow.com in conjunction with AQS's annual event. Throughout QuiltWeek, PSAD and International Miniature Quilt Exchange are included as a stop on the bus tour of AQS activities. Attendees should access the building through the public entry on Harrison Street.

The exhibition includes works from the United States, as well as Argentina, Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Serbia, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe.

"PSAD is delighted to again be participating as an exhibition venue during the AQS's Fall QuiltWeek in Paducah," says art school director Paul Aho. "The International Miniature Quilt Exchange provides visitors and community members another venue within which to see outstanding contemporary art quilts by international artists. We are proud to support both the American Quilters Society's annual fall and spring quilting events."

Bill Ford Gallery hours during Quilt Week are Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gallery hours from May 1 through May 18 are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

West Kentucky Community and Technical College's PSAD offers an associate in fine arts degree in visual art and an associate in applied science degree and certificate programs in visual communication: multimedia, as well as studio art classes for students of all levels and disciplines. Classes are offered on WKCTC's campus; at 905 Harrison Street; and at 919 Madison Street.
