Americana Band Favorite to Play Last Backstage Pass of the Season at WKCTC's Clemens Fine Arts Center
Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters Concert March 16
Paducah, KY (03/04/2019) — Americana band Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters will play this season's last Backstage Pass concert at West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Clemens Fine Arts Center Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m.
"These guys are a favorite among our Americana music fans throughout the region, and we know the audience will enjoy their high-octane, fun music at the CFAC. Great music by great guys," said Todd Birdsong, Clemens Fine Arts Center director. "If you are a fan of bands like Little Feat and TurnpikeTroubadours you are sure to love Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters."
The four-piece band hails from Bloomington, Indiana, and through extensive touring, have become mainstays of the Midwest Americana scene. Over the past several years, Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters have released several successful EPs, including Extra Better in 2013 and Light of Day in 2014. In September 2015, the group set ten highway-tested, fine-tuned songs loose in the confines of LA Land Studios. The result was Midwest Heart/Southern Blues, a new album with a gritty, upbeat collection of songs, full of characters who were developed while staring over the dash of a beat up Ford van cruising through towns in the South and Midwest, whose better days are behind them. Their new song "All Damn Day" was released in October 2018.
Backstage Pass is an intimate, onstage experience at the Clemens Center. Coffee, desserts, drinks and popcorn are sold throughout the evening as the audience enjoys the music of the Backstage Pass performers. The series is supported by WKMS-FM in Murray and Paducah's ETC Coffeehouse.
Tickets for Backstage Pass are $8 in advance at artsinfocus.org or by calling Julie Moore at 270-534-3212. Tickets can also be purchased for $10 at the door.
