Level up your psychology teaching at the Heartland Psychology Teaching Conference
Event geared toward psychology teachers from high schools, community colleges, and universities
Paducah, KY (12/04/2024) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) will host a psychology teaching conference for area educators in March, 2025. The Heartland Psychology Teaching Conference is a one-day event designed to inspire educators with renowned speakers, interactive workshops and breakout sessions, and boost classroom skills.
The confrence will include:
* Renowned speakers sharing their insights on cutting-edge teaching methods in psychology.
* Interactive workshops and breakout sessions, gaining practical strategies for educators implement right away.
* Networking opportunities with psychology teachers from all levels to share ideas and build a supportive networks.
* Become an inspiration: Propose your own breakout session or roundtable discussion and share your expertise with others.
"We hope that educators attending the Heartland Psychology Teaching Conference will leave inspired," said Beverly Barrett, professor of psychology at WKCTC. "Our goal is to give educators opportunities to discover new ways to engage their students and make psychology come alive in the classroom."
Barrett added that the conference will serve as a valuable professional development option for educators.
Dr. Kenneth Carter will be teaching General Session 1: Psychology's Living Tapestry. Carter is a clinical psychologist, author, and speaker. He is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Psychology at Oxford College of Emory University and the founding director of the Emory University Center of Public Scholarship.
Dr. Laura Freberg will be teaching General Session 2: Navigating AI in the Psychology Classroom. Freberg is a Professor of Psychology at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, specializes in behavioral neuroscience and introductory psychology.
