New Students Become Part of WKCTC Family at Friday Fun Day

Enrollment Blast Tomorrow

Paducah, KY (08/03/2018) — More than 375 new students were on campus at West Kentucky Community and Technical College August 3 for this year's New Student Friday Fun Day.

"Today was a big day; we were excited to welcome our new students to WKCTC," said Trent Johnson, admissions director. "It was an excellent time for them and their families to be on campus having fun while also meeting our faculty and staff and becoming part of the WKCTC family."

Madyson Maze of Goreville, Ill., said she is glad to be a part of that family. "Everyone is really nice and friendly and that's what I really like about it," said the 18-year-old Goreville High School graduate. Her mom came with her to the fun day event and said the day helped ease her mind.

"It takes a burden off of me knowing my child is in a nice, comfortable, friendly atmosphere," said Rhonda Maze.

Students like Madyson Maze not only had the opportunity to have fun with games, music and free food, they were also able to learn about technology on campus, financial aid, student organizations and more.

It's not too late to register for fall classes. Potential students can attend an enrollment blast tomorrow, August 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Anderson Technical Building Lobby. The WKCTC Admissions Team including assessment, financial aid, and advising will again be on hand to help potential students with the enrollment process for the fall semester. The WKCTC Bookstore will also be open throughout the enrollment blast.

Registration for fall classes at WKCTC continues. Call 1-(855) GO-WKCTC or visit westkentucky.kctcs.edu for class offerings. Fall classes begin August 13.
