Quetzali and the Comic Book Queen vs. the Alebrije of Darkness in the School Cafeteria

World premiere family-centered event at the Clemens Fine Arts Center

Paducah, KY (03/10/2025) — Lexington Children's Theatre is excited to announce the world premiere of Quetzali and the Comic Book Queen vs. the Alebrije of Darkness, a thrilling new superhero saga that will come to life in a live performance on March 15 at 1 p.m. on stage at the Clemens Fine Arts Center. This exciting, high-energy show is packed with humor, heart, and heroic moments that are sure to captivate audiences of all ages.

Location: WKCTC Clemens Fine Arts Center

Admission: Recommended for Ages 9+ (All children must be accompanied by an adult)

In this action-packed adventure, Lali Marquez, a seemingly normal teenager, discovers that her destiny is far from ordinary when a mysterious Quetzal feather sprouts from her arm. This marks the beginning of her epic journey as a superhero. Teamed up with her comic-loving best friend Nicki, Lali embarks on a mission to uncover ancient Aztec secrets while battling the malevolent forces invading their school.

The production promises a unique mix of excitement, laughs, and meaningful moments that celebrate friendship, family, and the power within each of us to become our own heroes. The show invites viewers to dive into a world of myth, mystery, and empowerment, all within the backdrop of a school cafeteria. This one-of-a-kind theatrical event celebrates the magic of friendship and the superhero within us all!

"We are thrilled to be able to bring Lexington Children's Theatre, and this superhero adventure to the Clemens Center as our inaugural "Arts & Ideas" family performance series," said Malissa Kano-White.
