West Kentucky RCX Regional Tournament March 8 at Clemens Theater
Paducah, KY (03/04/2025) — The West Kentucky Robo Challenge Xtreme (RCX) Regional Tournament is returning for 2025, offering an exciting robotics challenge for students of all ages. The theme for this year's event, "Mission Horizon: Headed to the Moon," will bring students on a journey to the moon using Lego robots to complete programmed missions in a thrilling three-minute time frame. Students will have the chance to work on problem-solving, programming, and teamwork while participating in a fun and competitive environment.
Event Details:
Date: Saturday, March 8
Location: Clemens Theater in the Clemens Fine Arts Center
Participants: 33 teams, 150 students from elementary, middle, and high schools across the region
Schedule:
- Middle School Tournament: 8:15 - 11:40 a.m.
- Top 5 teams will advance to the state tournament.
- Elementary/High School Tournament: 12:45 - 3:30 p.m.
- Top 3 teams from each level will advance to the state tournament.
The event is sponsored in part by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and marks an ongoing partnership between the WKCTC and CLC. The top scorers from the West Kentucky RCX Regional Tournament will advance to the state tournament taking place on April 23 at Rupp Arena during the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) event.
