WKCTC Education Express Tour Launches in Mayfield/Graves County, Emphasizing Regional Collaboration
Paducah, KY (04/02/2025) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) President Anton Reece launched the "Your Community, Your College, Your Future" Education Express tour in Mayfield/Graves County on April 1, 2025, at the West KY Rural Electric Cooperative Corp. The regional Education Express is the vision of Dr. Reece to celebrate education and recognize regional community leaders, students, educators, local businesses, and non-profit organizations. The event also showcased college successes in recent years. Mayfield Mayor Kathy O'Nan welcomed more than 40 attendees who turned out to meet WKCTC's faculty and staff.
"As we embark on this renewed journey of the Education Express, our goal remains clear - to meet you where you are, listen to your needs, and work together to create opportunities that foster individual success, business growth, and regional development," said Dr. Reece.
WKCTC staff addressed the importance of education in local communities and its role in workforce development. Certificates of Recognition were presented to Mayor O'Nan, Graves County Judge Executive Jesse Perry, Graves County Schools Superintendent Matthew Madding, and Mayfield City Schools Superintendent Billy Edwards.
The Education Express tour will continue with seven additional stops:
* April 10, 2025: Massac County, Illinois - Massac County Community Center, 4476 Korte Rd, Metropolis, IL
* April 17, 2025: Livingston County, Kentucky - Livingston County Board of Education, 840 Cutoff Rd, Smithland, KY
* April 24, 2025: Marshall County, Kentucky - Marshall County Board of Education, 86 High School Rd, Benton, KY
* April 29, 2025: Ballard and Carlisle Counties, Kentucky - Ballard County High School Cafeteria, 3561 Paducah Rd, Barlow, KY
* May 1, 2025: Murray and Calloway County, Kentucky - Murray/Calloway County Area Technology Center, 126 Robertson Rd N, Murray, KY
* May 6, 2025: Fulton and Hickman Counties, Kentucky - Pontotoc Civic Center, 112 E State Line St, Fulton, KY
* May 15, 2025: Pope County, Illinois - Pope County High School Community Room, 125 State Highway 146 W, Golconda, IL
