WKCTC to Host Second Annual Information Technology Conference November 9

Public Invited, Register by October 26

Paducah, KY (10/22/2018) — West Kentucky Community and Technical College is hosting its second annual IT- Connect, an information technology conference (IT) to bring together avid IT professionals to showcase the region's best companies and potential IT job opportunities within the region.

IT-Connect will be held in the college's Clemens Fine Arts Center November 9 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The conference is free and open to the public. Includes lunch and breakout sessions. Participants must register by October 26. Registration: https://tinyurl.com/IT-Connect-2018.

This year's conference focuses on cyber security and aims to provide a networking opportunity for alumni, new and potential students, industry and the public. Topics include:

  • connecting high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with future IT jobs in cyber and information security,
  • connecting college students and alumni with potential employers,
  • educating students on how to secure their digital world,
  • showcasing the IT training available at WKCTC and the 2 + 2 transfer agreement with Murray State University (MSU).

Speakers include Miter Corporation's Forest Carver; FBI Intelligence Analyst Zachary Smith; Dr. Michael Ramage, director of MSU's Center for Telecommunications System Management; Michael Williams, Manager of Security Operations at Computer Services Inc; Ryan Green, president of Rygre Digital Marketing and others.
